Wired/Wi-Fi User Internet Access with Failover & VPN
Pick a kind of traffic, hover the boxes, and take the primary uplink down to see the failover.
Follow one request: browsing the internet
- 1The device joins: DHCP hands out an address and 802.1X places it in the right VLAN.
- 2The access switch forwards it up the 10 Gbps backbone to the core.
- 3The core routes it to the firewall, which applies policy and NAT.
- 4The firewall sees CGNet healthy and sends the traffic out on the primary 1 Gbps link.
- 5The request leaves the campus; the reply comes back along the same path.
Original sequence drawing

- Internet uplinks: CGNet 1 Gbps (primary) and NTC FiberNet 1 Gbps (secondary), automatic failover at the firewall
- Network Switches: a firewall at the edge, one access switch per building, 1 Gbps UTP to every port
- Building Distribution: Coverage across C-Block, Architecture, EMC, D-Block, Machine Lab, ICT Lab, Canteen, Guard House, Back-ICT, Library
- Services: CCTV, IP Phone integration, UTP 10Gbps backbone, site-to-site VPN to NTC SIP and NIC Asia Bank
